 | 06:01 am Doctor Who was AWESOME - I kept hearing it was the scariest ever, but I feel like Blink was much scarier until the last ten? minutes, which was more a sort of rising 'oh shiiiit' feeling, man. Can't wait for the Christmas specials zo/
Merlin was also good, by which i mean AWESOME. And then there was Top Gear. (Nothing will beat the Vietnam special in road trip terms, though)
My interview at Primark seemed to go well. The interview guy said 'I think you answered the question well!' and we had a pretty good rapport. will hear back this week, the guy said about fifty times that he would definitely get in touch either way, which is relieving :D
I can't take this song off repeat. it's been a while since I've been struck by a song like this :D Current Mood: awake

 | 11:49 pm - dreams so, since i dont post, and i wanted to tell someone, and thay buggered off befor i rembered...
i had a dream last night. i so rarely rember my dreams. i was at expo witch was, as so offten with dreams, inexplicbly somewhere diffrent. in this case the country side. i walked up some roads in the sunny tree lined coutnry side, and found my self by a river near a beutful house, like the place in st neots. only with a river. i spoke with a pritty girl, and we both went in to the river (other people where in it to...) then i woke up.
it was such a lovely dream. the setting was so amazing. im such a geek. XD.
in other news, im in what is best discribed as a "dylon mood" in that his music is the kind of mood i feel. a little melocoly. couldnt say why, but dylons music and its molocoly tones are the best accompmenent.
sorry i dont update more lj. my lifes just quite and borining atm. appart from roleplay, where i am stedly screwing every carcter i play over in to a ball of mush! Current Music: lay lady lay - bob dylon

 | 10:18 pm - Love Mouse
More independent anime. This time from hidakashinsaku, and again found via SWFBLOG. The odd decision to use synthesized English voices and an apparently machine translated script hurts it somewhat.

 | 08:44 pm Photo time!
I'm apparently in a dicking-around-with-my-photos phase, so be warned that some of these are a bit... abstract :P
These first ones are from the Natural History Museum, more specifically the new Darwin Centre, which I enjoyed mostly for the amazing architecture and lighting rather than what was inside. If you're 7 and the whole natural history thing is new to you, I'm sure it's fascinating. But if you're 24 and have been watching nature programs since you were 7 then you might not find anything new here :P

More on the way.

 | 12:00 pm - HATE FUN 2003! Full Metal Panic Fumoffu
Something I actually liked.
The Full Metal Panic franchise is taken from Gonzo’s hands and passed to some Kyoto Animation, with this their first production of their own. Stripping the drama from the Full Metal Panic world, you are left with a clever variation on the so called magical girlfriend genre popularised by Urusei Yatsura. A military boyfriend show if you will.
In much the same way that Lum doesn’t understand human culture and uses alien technology in a way that disturbs the lifestyle of the humans around here, a similar culture clash occurs with child soldier Sousuke Sagara’s interaction with the students of Jindai High.
For something that’s been done to death for decades, it was impressive to see a new twist, and I think it works much better stripped of the more serious baggage of the FMP story proper.

 | 08:00 am - HATE FUN 2003! Shadow Star Narutaru
This anime adaptation of Mohiro Kitoh’s manga was a lot of English speaking people’s first exposure to Kitoh’s somewhat bleak world view. Deliberately, deceptively cute this is a stronger adaptation in terms of writing to the later adaptation of Bokurano: Ours, probably in part due to Chiaki J. Konata’s presence on staff. Visually though, it wasn’t particularly gripping. While true to Kitoh’s visuals, it just felt a little flat to me. At least in the episodes I saw.

 | 06:00 am - HATE FUN 2003! Tsukihime
Oh for crying out loud! Another flipping erogame adaptation. And another one that people REALLY love. It’s something to do with vampires and very dull character designs I think.

Will it ever stop? (SPOILER: NO) It’s another watered down erogame adaptation. This time dealing the sexy world of post traumatic stress disorder. Seriously. This was beloved at the time, and generally well received. By people I know, no less.
But you know what? There’s a word for people who like this sort of cartoon. THE ENEMY.
